I just wanted to post a fun true story.
by outlander inan estimated 20,000 new age believers who say the "upside down" mountain is home to aliens who will rescue them from an impending apocalypse have saturated a small french commune near the foot of the picturesque pic de bugarach.. the independent reports the growing flock, who locals refer to as "esoterics," believe the world will come to an end on december 21st, 2012. they also reportedly believe that the unique mountain is in fact home to a race of alien beings that will emerge to rescue the gathered humans and transport them to a new civilization.. .
quick, someone email the governing body to send some literature to these people!.

Do you use Goat Milk Soap or Olive Oil Soap?

Try using products made form organic extra virgin coconut oil instead.
It moisturizes and is an even better source of good fat then olive oil.
The only draw back is you will smell a bit coconutty.

has anyone tried to "study" and get baptized again in a far away congregation?
by Sofi in....so you didn't have to go through the process of being reinstated?
please, share your experiences!

Why would you want to go back?
In spite of the question, I do understand why someone might do such a thing, especially if they wanted, or needed, to get back in and didn't fancy all the ass-kissing it would take to get reinstated.
You could have a fresh start without the DF/DA stigma and it would be easier; I've seen "new" ones come in and get baptized in as little as 4-6 months, but reinstatement can take a minimum of 6 months and sometimes years.
If you had to go back, which route would you choose?

Why Elders leave the Organization and why their Wives stay.
by stuckinamovement ini have talked to quite a few brothers who have served as elders and servants and left the organization.
in most cases their wives have remained in despite the husbands best efforts to persuade his wife that the organization is wrong.
even though the wife can see problems within they continue to press on in service to the society.

Some people fear change.
They stick with what's familiar.

Do I have this straight? In the time of the end.....
by OnTheWayOut inin the time of the end, (great tribulation/armageddon/whatever) the activities of jehovah's witnesses would be severely increasing?
didn't they give the impression that they would have like 93% pioneers and be "studying" their literature with tons and tons of people who need to get into the organization before it's too late?
isn't it supposed to be a great army?.

No you don't have it straight; R&Fers, apostates and worldlies never have it straight.
Because even when you're right you're wrong and if they later acknowledge your point you were twisted and wrong until they say it's right then you're straight and right, but not quite.

Had to sit through 'Creation Reveals God's Glory'
by Flat_Accent inwith my parents last night.. i had seen the dvd before but there was an overall feeling of awkwardness when they played it this time.. they both came diving into the living room anxious to watch it, and though my mum usually gets emotional when things like this are brought up, she kept her cool and decided to lay down some "facts".
things like "we are living in the last days, and the anglo-american world power is the last one.
china will never be a world power.

I feel your pain.
These videos are supposed to be informative and mildly entertaining, but they’re just terrible. GACK! even worse than the litter-a-turd.
My Mom always wants to get together and watch them when they are being discussed at the meat-ings. I can usually find an excuse to get out of the torture, but once in a while I have to suck it up and endure the extra waste of time.

Why the Governing Body is not Evil
by garbonzo ini know that some of you don't personally think that the gb wants to cause harm or is only after the money, but after reading some posts on here, it seems like some of you do think that the gb is evil.. .
if you think about it, that doesn't make sense, but here is just one question.
why would the gb create a time limit on their organization if they believed it to be false?
-
Disillusioned Lost-Lamb
Sense of urgency.
Stores use this when they put items on "sale". They make you think it is urgent to purchase today, after all it won't be that price tomorrow.
WRONG!
If a store can sell it for that price today they can sell it for that tomorrow, they just choose no to.
The GB use an expiration date because they know it gets the lackeys to move and move fast, and with a little tweaking they can run their date out further and further (i.e. the generation changes). They know it’s just like milk, and will eventually spoil, but don’t care because by the time it goes down they’ll have sucked what they wanted out of it and be dead and gone. So in the mean time they're gonna make you work, pay for and drink as must of that out of date milk as possible before it putrefies.

Sound familiar? (Park) Romney, Mormon Apostate
by GLTirebiter inbbc has an article about mitt romney's cousin, a former "high priest" who left the lds church and is critical of it.. "i became convinced that it's a fraud," park romney told the bbc, explaining his reason for leaving the mormon fold.. "there's compelling evidence that the mormon church leaders knowingly and wilfully misrepresent the historical truth of their origins and of the church for the purpose of deceiving their members into a state of mind that renders them exploitable," says park.. one thing that particularly agitates them is "shunning" - allegations that former church members are denied access to family members who remain in the church.. park claims this has happened to him.. "i am alienated from my family," he told the bbc.. "their doctrine, their protocol and their culture as enforced by bishops encourages the families to disassociate themselves from the apostate.".
mormon church elder jeffrey holland denies shunning occurs.. "we don't use that word and we don't know that practice..

They don't shun!
They just lovingly ignore and exclude you until you see how wrong you are.

Great fun about new magazine simplyfying
by Gorbatchov inyesterday i read about the new watchtower & awake magazine simplyfying (15 pages) on jwd and i got a very big big simle at my face.
(yes, the face is big also...).
because: the simplyfying is based on a new strategy: using internet (jw.org) for distributing the magazine content.. the big smile came from this: at a recent co visit, the co told the congretation the following: "everyone of us who suggests that our magazines and litterature has to be distributed by internet is a potential apostate and against the will of jehovah.

I love it!
After years of vilifying the Internet, noo-light shows it's not so bad after all and in fact it's quite useful and cost effective.
I would love to ask the GB if they want another helping of humble pie?
Or are they too full after putting their feet in their mouth?
